REDWOOD FALLS – Windom Area has been seeded fourth for the Section 3A girls hockey tournament.
The Eagles, 8-13, will host fifth-seeded Fairmont in a quarterfinal round game Thursday. Game time has not been announced.
The teams split during the regular season with the road team winning each time.
The Cardinals won 4-2 at Windom on Dec. 20, with the Eagles winning 4-3 at Fairmont on Jan. 18.
The Fairmont-Windom Area winner advances to the semifinals and plays at top-seeded New Ulm (21-3) Saturday.
On the other side of the 3A bracket, sixth-seeded Worthington (5-18) plays at third-seeded Marshall (12-13-1). That winner plays at second-seeded Luverne (21-3) in Saturday’s semifinals.
The Section 3A championship game is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Windom Area closes out its regular-season schedule at New Ulm Tuesday.
