
Ahead of a Big South Conference home game on Thursday, the Jackson County Central baseball team went in opposition directions for road games to start the week.
On Monday, Talan Holm threw a five-hit shutout as the Huskies were 2-0 winners over Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial at Collis Field in Lake Crystal. The sophomore right hander walked one, hit a batter and struck out 10.
JCC scored single runs in the second and third innings.
Haiden Warmka doubled in the second inning and came around to score on an error. In the third inning, Ben Gallagher struck out but reached first on a wild pitch, stole second and third and scored on a double by Carson Kolander.
Kolander had two hits for the Huskies, while Warmka and Kash Gilbert each had one.
The next night, Jackson County Central lost 10-0 in five innings to Luverne at Redbird Field in Luverne.
Gallagher and Carson Doescher had the only hits for JCC. Levi Thompson went the distance and took the pitching loss.
Jackson County Central enters Thursday’s 5:30 p.m. game at Wacker Field 4-10 overall and 3-9 in BSC Western Division play, while Windom is 8-7 and 5-7.
The Eagles defeated the Huskies 11-1 in five innings in the season opener for both teams April 3 at Lincoln Field in Windom.
