After turning up its physical play and dominating Le Sueur-Henderson two weeks ago, the Jackson County Central football team didn’t necessarily take a step back with its physical play last week at Redwood Valley, but the Huskies did make took many mistakes for the liking of head coach Tom Schuller and the entire staff.
JCC will try again to turn the intensity back up when it hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 7 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Field.
Make no mistake about it, the Huskies have posted some impressive numbers in starting the season 5-0 for the third straight season and 10th overall in school history. JCC is first among Class 2A teams in points scored with 55.2 per game and is second in points allowed with 5.6.
The Chargers come to Jackson with a 2-3 record. They opened the season with wins over Sibley East and Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial, but have lost three in a row, falling to Le Sueur-Henderson, Luverne and Pipestone.
