HERON LAKE - Lakefield scored five runs in the first inning and went on to defeat Heron Lake 10-0 in seven innings in First Nite League amateur baseball Sunday. The Frogs added one run in the second, two in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Three pitchers combined on the shutout.
Phil Pronk pitched five innings, with Cameron Scholten and Brett Rossow throwing one apiece.
Justin Jass, Trevon Bargfrede and Jared Bakalyar had two hits apiece for Lakefield. Bargfrede and Bakalyar each had two runs batted in. Bargfrede and Octavio Jimenez each scored three times runs.
The Frogs, 3-2, are scheduled to play Mountain Lake at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James.
