Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson made his final start of the season for the Louisville Bats Wednesday vs. the Gwinnett Stripers in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
He went 4.1 shutout innings for the Cincinnati Reds Triple-A affiliate, allowing one hit, walking four and striking out five. Williamson threw 74 pitches, 43 for strikes.
The Bats won the game 6-2 over Gwinnett, an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, to finish the season with a 60-90 record.
Williamson made 13 starts for Louisville. He had a 1-5 record with a 4.07 earned run average.
In 55.1 innings he allowed 27 runs (25 earned) on 53 hits, walking 37, hitting four and striking out 49.
Combined with his time with Double-A Chattanooga, Williamson went 6-7 with a 4.11 ERA. He pitched 122.2 innings, allowing 58 runs (56 earned) on 114 hits, walking 79, hitting nine batters and striking out 123.
