
Sadie Hotzler of Jackson is in ninth place in Pole Bending after the first GoRound of the National Junior High Finals Rodeo at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Hotzler had a time of 20.56 seconds in Tuesday’s evening session, which was fourth of 28 entries in that performance. Overall, she is ninth out of 158 entries.
Sadie also had a good showing in Breakaway with a time of 4.37. She was 12th of 18 in that performance and is 59th out of 93 competitors overall.
Hotzler had a tough go in Barrels with a 21.727, which was 28th of 34 in that performance.
Sadie competes again in each of those events. She’ll be up in Pole Bending Thursday morning, Breakaway Friday evening and Barrel Racing Saturday morning.
Sadie is the daughter of Terry and Shelly Hotzler.
Approximately 1,200 contestants from 43 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia and Mexico participate in the national event.
