Two straight for Windom
A week after ending a 17-game losing streak, Windom brought two more streaks to a halt Friday with a 51-6 victory over Wabasso at Island Park.
According to Joel Alvstad of the Cottonwood County Citizen, it’s first time since 2010 the Eagles have won two straight games. Most (if not all) of the team's current players had not even started kindergarten. Windom started that season with a 4-0 record.
Also, it’s the Eagles first home win since Oct. 4, 2019, when the Eagles won a 22-20 overtime decision over St. James Area.
The Windom Eagle football team did something it hadn’t done since the 2010 season Friday night at Island Park: win for the second week in a row.
Quintin Tietz was 13-for-22 passing for 194 yards and four touchdowns. He also had a rushing TD and kicked an extra point.
Windom’s remaining regular-season games are against Sleepy Eye United and Springfield.
