Senior Travis Rogotzke scored a Jackson County Central boys basketball single-game scoring record of 48 points to highlight Friday night’s area sports.
Rogotzke’s record night helped the Huskies to a 106-91 win over Windom.
The JCC wrestling team was in Sioux Falls, where it lost to South Dakota Class A (large school) top-ranked Brandon Valley 44-19 at Elmen Center on the campus of Augustana University.
That match was a prelim to an NSIC dual that saw the University of Mary defeat Augustana 36-0 in a meeting of teams that entered the match tied for 14th in the latest NCAA Division II ratings. One JCC graduate and three Martin County West grads were in the lineup for the Vikings.
The Windom Area boys hockey team played Big South Conference undefeated New Ulm to a one-goal game for the second time this season but dropped a 3-2 decision.
Also Friday, the Martin County West girls basketball team was a 67-35 winner over Madelia behind Emily Anderson’s 25 points.
