Two Jackson County Central juniors were in Iowa City on Saturday for Game Day visits as the Iowa Hawkeyes hosted Iowa State.
Weston Rowe and Roman Voss were both on the Kinnick Stadium sideline as the Cyclones edged Iowa 20-19. Rowe tweeted about the visit:
The week before, Rowe had made a Game Day visit to Iowa State. Voss visited Ames last year.
Rowe has also received Game Day visit offers from FBS schools Central Michigan and Minnesota, as well as FCS schools North Dakota, Montana, Cornell, South Dakota State, and Northern Iowa.
Eight Power Four football conference schools have made offers to Voss. They are Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, California, and Kansas.
Schools bidding for his services seem to have Voss penciled on as a tight end. Roman’s dad, Rod, tweeted that he met up with a pretty good one during his visit:
Dallas Clark won the 2002 John Mackey Award presented to the most outstanding tight end in college football while with the Hawkeyes. He was a first-team All-Big Ten selection, and a unanimous first-team All-American.
He played 11 seasons in the NFL, nine with the Indianapolis Colts, winning the Super Bowl over the Chicago Bears. Clark also played one season apiece with the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former tight end is not to be confused with JCC graduate Dallas Clarksean, who went on a Game Day visit with his son, Hudson, last week. Hudson is a sophomore MLB-TE at Mankato West.
Dallas wore his SDSU garb to Madison on a day the Badgers were playing USD. Dallas played for the Jackrabbits. Wisconsin won 27-13.
I imagine both will be in Brookings on Saturday when dad and grandpa Charlie is inducted into the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame.
