The Minnesota Vikings will play the last of a three-game home stretch against the New York Jets at U.S. Bank Stadium Sunday.
Kickoff is at noon. The game will be televised on CBS with Ian Eagle on play-by-play, Charles Davis as analyst and Evan Washburn as sideline reporter.
It’s the first time the Vikings will host the Jets at U.S. Bank Stadium and the fourth time the teams have played in December.
New York leads the series 8-3.
The Vikings have three wins vs. the Jets, tied with Baltimore for the fewest against any opponent. Minnesota has played New York 11 times since 1970 and the Ravens seven since 1998.
The first time
The Vikings first game vs. the Jets was on Nov. 29, 1970 at Shea Stadium with New York winning 20-10 as the Jets improved to 4-7 on the season.
Minnesota had a seven-game winning streak snapped to fall to 9-2. The Vikings would finish 12-2 but lost 17-14 at home to San Francisco in the Divisional Playoffs.
Jets quarterback Joe Namath broke his wrist in the fifth game and was out for the season.
Al Woodall was 8-for-12 passing for New York including a 21-yard touchdown pass to George Sauer.
George Nock led the Jets in rushing with 117 yards on 32 carries including a 15-yard TD. Emerson Boozer rushed 18 times for 61 yards.
Jim Turner kicked field goals of 35 and 20 yards.
Bob Lee was 9-24 passing for the Vikings including a 22-yard touchdown pass to Jim Lindsey. Fred Cox kicked a 43-yard field goal.

Jarius Wright caught an 87-yard touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater in overtime to give the Vikings a 30-24 win on the Jets last visit to Minnesota, a game played at the University of Minnesota on Dec. 7, 2014.
T.J. Hockenson has 26 receptions since joining the Vikings in a trade with Detroit, the most for a tight end through the first four games for a team in NFL history.
