Carsen Musser is a goalie on the U.S. squad that has advanced to the championship game of the International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championships at St. Jakob Arena in Basel, Switzerland.
The U.S. won its sixth straight game in tournament Saturday, beating Slovakia 7-1 in the semifinals. The Americans have outscored their opponents 48-8 in the tournament.
In Sunday’s gold medal game, the U.S. will play Sweden, which defeated Canada 7-2 in the other semifinal. Game time is noon Central time, and it will be televised on the NHL Network.
Musser has seen action in two games at the World tourney.
He made 14 saves on 15 shots he faced in a 12-0 win over Norway; and stopped all four shots he saw in the third period of a 10-0 victory over Switzerland.
Musser has a save percentage of .947 and goals against average of 0.75.
