Jackson County Central’s boys were eighth as a team and the girls ninth at the Cardinal Invitational golf tournaments Saturday in Fairmont.
The boys were eighth in their tournament at Interlaken Golf Club with a 360 total. Minnewaska Area won it with a 314.
Tavin Miller led the Huskies as he finished 10th overall out of 74 golfers with an 82.
Sam Brinkman shot an 86 for JCC, followed by Kasey Grimmius (88) and Wyatt Wenzel (104) to round out the counting scores. Also golfing for Jackson County Central were Luke Anderson (107) and Matt Haley (109).
Luverne’s Henry Hartquist was medalist with a 72.
JCC’s girls had a 431 total at Rose Lake Golf Club. Redwood Valley was first with 338.
Ava Brinkman led the Huskies by carding a 93 to finish 14th of 56 golfers.
She was followed for JCC by Maci Farmer (98), Rachel Mohr (115) and Shala Voehl (125).
Julian Brown of Redwood Valley was medalist with a 71.
Both Jackson County Central teams play in a Big South Conference East Division event Monday with the girls at Blue Earth and the boys at St. Peter.
