
Host Windom was a winner over Fox Lake in a good pitching matchup Sunday night at Island Park as the Pirates were 5-1 winners over the Foxes in a First Nite League contest.
Ross Ackerman went the distance in the scheduled seven-inning game, allowing one unearned run on three hits, walking two and striking out 12.
Paxton Gravlin took the loss for the Foxes as he pitched six innings, giving up five runs (all earned) on nine hits, walking two and fanning nine.
Gravlin also had one of Fox Lake’s hits. Luke Kester and Zach Anderson had the others.
Jake Tauer, Drew Rothenberger and Luke Gilbertson had two hits apiece for Windom.
The Foxes will host Jackson at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Truman.
