Local entries doing well in Vegas

Jackson’s cowgirls are having a good amount of success at events in Las Vegas.

Sadie Hotzler of Jackson won Tuesday’s 17U Pole Bending go-round with a time of 19.805 seconds at the Junior National Finals Rodeo.

She also competed in both 19U and 15U Breakaway Roping.

In 19U she had a 15.53 with a 10-second broken barrier penalty in Round 1, no time in Round 2, and a 3.04 for third place in Round 3. Sadie was eighth in the aggregate.

In 15U Hotzler had 3.71 in Round 1, recorded 14.38 in Round 2, and had no time in Round 3 as she placed third in the aggregate.

Josie Dvorak qualified to compete in Saturday’s short go round at the Hooey Junior Patriot with a time of 21.755 that placed her ninth.
