
Make it a half-dozen Power Four conference schools that have extended offers to Jackson County Central junior Roman Voss.
Illinois is the latest to make an offer to Voss after his performance at the Rising Illini Camp Saturday in Champaign.
Voss, who will be a junior at Jackson County Central, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) Saturday night that he had received an offer from Fighting Illini coach Bret Bielema.
Bielema will be starting his fourth season at Illinois. He previously coached at Wisconsin for seven years and Arkansas for five. In 15 years as a head coach, he has a 115-77 record, and he has led a team to a bowl game 11 times.
Media reports out of Illinois referred to Voss’ position as tight end. He is listed as an Athlete by recruiting services and has played safety, quarterback and receiver at JCC.
Voss has received a flurry of offers recently.
On Thursday he announced that he had received an offer from Iowa. On Friday he posted that he had also received an offer from Iowa State. Earlier he had announced offers from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Kansas State.
