Hatty (Rossow) Roggow became the third Jackson County Central player to be inducted into Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame at the group’s banquet on Sunday. She joins Alyssa Honnette, who was indicted in 2012; and Christina Flatebo, a 2014 inductee.
Hatty was on the Huskies’ 2004 and 2005 teams that won back-to-back state Class AA championships.
She played eight varsity games as an eighth grader and then was a fixture in the JCC lineup the next four years, winning double-digit games in the pitcher’s circle and also being one of the team’s top hitters.
Roggow won 11 games with a 1.89 earned run average as a freshman and 10 games with a 1.49 ERA as a sophomore. At the plate, she hit .485 with 15 doubles, five triples and three home runs among her 48 hits.
As a junior she had a 20-2 record with a 0.74 and then went 17-2 in her senior season with a 0.989 ERA. Hatty batted .413 that year with 38 hits that included eight doubles, four triples and two homers.
In her five seasons on varsity, she played on three section championship teams and two runners-up. JCC won Southwest Conference championships in 2001 and 2002.
In the Section 3AA championship game in 2004, Hatty threw a perfect game vs. Pipestone.
For her career she won 62 games, lost nine and had two saves. In 454 innings Hatty allowed 126 runs (72 earned) on 248 hits, walked 71 and struck out 478.
Roggow was all-conference three times (2002, 2004, 2005) and honorable mention all-conference once (2003). She was all-section three times (2002, 2004, 2005).
Hatty was all-state twice (2004, 2005) and honorable mention all-state once (2002).
Three times she was named to the all-state tournament team (2002, 2004, 2005) and she was academic all-state as a senior (2005).
