Hobie Hedquist returned to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Saturday and earned the win in goal as the Bulldogs went on the road for a 4-2 British Columbia Hockey League win over the Powell River Kings.
The Heron Lake native had missed the previous three games due to an injury.
He stopped 26 of 28 shots, 12 in the first period, six in the second and eight in the third and received Third Star honors for the game.
Hedquist has played in four games for the Bulldogs this season and has a 2-2 record. He has a goals-against average of 2.66 and save percentage of .894.
Alberni Valley, 4-3-1-0 on the season, will play in the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack this week. The Bulldogs play the Vernon Vipers (3-4-0-1) on Wednesday and the defending BCHL champion Penticton Vees (8-0-0-0) on Thursday.
The team continues the road trip Friday at the Merritt Centennials (2-4-1-0).
