MCW girls to host Blackhawks, Bucs, Crusaders
After having a nine-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday, the Martin County West girls basketball team has home games on back-to-back nights in Trimont to start the week and then another home game at the end of the week.
The Mavericks host Madelia Monday and Blue Earth Area on Tuesday and then have Mankato Loyola coming in on Saturday for the Karson Kent Janssen Memorial Hoops for Heart event on Saturday.
Thursday’s 53-47 loss to Sleepy Eye leaves MCW at 17-4 overall. The Mavericks are 10-0 in the conference standings.
Martin County West has outscored its opponents 54.0-44.3 this season. Madelia (3-16, 1-9) has been outscored by a 68.7-45.9 margin. The Mavericks won the first meeting of the teams 70-24 on Jan. 24 in Madelia.
Blue Earth Area visits for a nonconference game Tuesday. The Buccaneers (0-18, 0-11 in the Big South Conference East Pod) have been outscored 66.7-36.1.
Loyola (12-7, 5-4) has home games vs. Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons Monday and Nicollet Thursday before coming to MCW.
