JACKSON – David Ellefson will return to his hometown of Jackson to perform during this summer’s Jackson County Fair. The homecoming event is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Friday, July 29.
According to information from the Jackson County Fair Board, Ellefson is excited to return to his hometown of Jackson for a couple of celebrated events, the Jackson County Fair and races at Jackson Motorplex.
Ellefson will talk about his Rock & Roll journey to start the evening and then after the races, he will play one set with TOZ, his high school band.
The Jeremy DeWall Band will finish out the night.
Ellefson began his career in Jackson in the early 1980s and played with TOZ, the group he'll be reuniting with in July. The band was formed as middle and high school students in Jackson.
He played in Jackson and at many of the ballrooms and night spots in the area.
Ellefson was co-founder of the metal band Megadeth and had two stints as the bassist, from 1983 until a breakup in 2002, and again from 2010-2021.
Ticket information will be available later. They’ll be $10 in advance or $15 at the gate.
