Two teams that were ranked in the top 10 in last week’s media state Class 2A football team lost this week, one to another ranked team.
No. 9 Kimball Area ended a 19-game winning streak for No. 3 Eden Valley-Watkins 28-20. The Cubs, now 7-0, handed the Eagles (6-1) their first loss since the 2022 state semifinals as they went 13-0 in winning the state title last season and had started this year 6-0.
No. 5 Caledonia also lost Friday as the Warriors (6-1) lost 21-20 to Triton (5-2).
The final week of the regular season will see two games in which ranked Class 2A teams face each other and another where a 2A rated squad faces a ranked team from another class.

Also, No. 5 Caledonia (5-2) hosts Class 3A No. 9 Pine Island (6-1).
