Jackson County Central finished in 10th place in the Class A girls state true team track and field meet Saturday at Stillwater High School. It’s the second straight year the Huskies qualified for the state meet, which is sponsored by the Minnesota Track and Field Coaches Association.
Big South Conference rival Luverne won the meet with 551 points, with Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland/Southland second with 510. JCC scored 379.5 points.
Jackson County Central had seven top-six finishes.
Peyton Hanson: finished second in pole vault with an effort of 10-0 and was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 49.22.
Rylie Cother was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.61 and fifth in the long jump at 15-11.
Elsa Landherr placed fourth in the 400 meters in a season-best 1:01.55 and sixth in triple jump at 32-11 ½.
Landherr also anchored the second-place 4x200-meter relay team. Running the first three legs were Daysia Tomlin, Kendra Haar and Natalia Botello-Ramos. They had a time of 1:50.3.

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted won the Class A boys team title with 528 points, with Sauk Centre second with 503. Luverne was fifth with 458.5 points.
Worthington placed fourth in the Class AA boys team standings. St. Thomas Academy was first.
JCC will compete in the Section 2A South Sub-Section meet Thursday in Mapleton.
