JACKSON – Fairmont took both ends of a baseball doubleheader from Jackson County Central, 7-6 and 12-5 Monday at Wacker Field. It was the season opener for both teams.
Payton Handevidt had a two-run triple in the first game for the Huskies.
Levi Lindley and Bryson Powers had two hits apiece in the nightcap. Ben Spaeth hit a solo home run.
JCC used five pitchers in each game.
Jackson County Central is scheduled to host Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda in a nonconference game at 5 p.m. Friday.
