Levi Lindley scored a touchdown from seven yards out with 1:25 remaining to give the Jackson County Central football team a 26-20 win over St. Peter in its regular-season finale Wednesday night.
The Saints had led 14-0 after the first quarter.
It was Lindley’s second TD of the game. He had scored from four yards out in the third quarter to tie the game 20-20.
Logan Butzon’s interception with 42 seconds left sealed the win for the Huskies, who enter the Section 3AA playoffs with a 5-3 record.
Tanner Haar caught a 46-yard TD pass from Roman Voss and Payton Handevidt ran 58 yards for the other JCC score.
Jackson County Central had 418 yards offense, 302 rushing and 116 passing, while the St. Peter had 173 yards, all on the ground.
Handevidt had 93 yards on nine carries, Lindley 87 on 10 tries and Will Freking 82 yards on 10 totes.
Voss was 4-for-6 passing. Haar had three catches for 92 yards,
JCC will open the Section 3AA playoffs at home Tuesday vs. Windom.
