With Pipestone ahead on the schedule, it was important for the Jackson County Central softball team to rebound from its first loss of the season Tuesday in Blue Earth. The Huskies did that. And then some.
JCC scored nine runs in the first inning, improved on that number with 15 in the second inning and eventually beat Blue Earth Area 33-0.
Kinley VanDeVere had four hits including two home runs, one of them a grand slam. She scored four times and had seven runs batted in.
Mady Wachal had two hits including a homer, three runs scored and two RBI, while Bailey Finck had two doubles.
Miley VanDeVere, Lauren Johnson and Braelyn Boogerd had two hits apiece and each scored three runs. Boogerd collected five RBI.
JCC improved to 8-1. The Huskies have a 4 p.m. home doubleheader vs. Pipestone scheduled for Thursday.
