Two teams ranked first in the state and four runners listed in the individual ratings are scheduled to compete Thursday in the lone home meet of the season for the Jackson County Central cross country program, the Tri For Health-KKOJ Invitational at Loon Lake Golf Course.
Luverne is rated first in the Class A girls team poll, led by two highly ranked runners, with Tenley Nelson rated third and Jenna DeBates fifth.
They highlight the field for the varsity girls race, scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
The varsity boys race at 5:30 has Worthington, which the number one ranked Class AA team. The Trojans' Mikele Walu received votes in the Class AA individual rankings.
Also in the varsity boys race will be Martin County West's Jamesson Forsberg, who is receiving votes in this week's Class A boys individual poll.
