This is a corrected newsletter. The JCC football team will try to complete the sixth unbeaten regular season in school history tonight vs. St. Peter. The 2001 Huskies did not go unbeaten. They did win a state champiponship. That’s pretty good too.
This is the time of year in Minnesota high school football where the games come at you in a hurry.
After a forfeit left the Jackson County Central football without a game for 13 days, the Huskies are in a stretch that hopefully sees them play four games in 16 days.
Next on the docket is the regular-season finale at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Field when the Huskies host St. Peter.
The Class 2A fourth-ranked Huskies are 7-0, while the Class 4A Saints have a 3-4 mark.
In the teams’ last games on Friday there was a total of 29 points scored. JCC was a 12-7 winner over Pipestone while St. Peter beat Tri-City United 7-3.
Jackson County Central appears to have the number one seed in the Section 3AA playoffs clinched, but the Huskies would like to complete the sixth unbeaten regular season in school history.
