Jackson County Central is in a field of 22 teams scheduled to compete in the Section 3A cross country meet Thursday at Madison Golf Course.
The boys will run first at 4 p.m., with the girls race scheduled to follow at about 4:40.
The top two teams and top six individuals not on those teams advance to the state meet Saturday, Nov. 6 at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
There are no rated teams or individuals in the boys race.
Two JCC runners (Andrew Boyum and Evan Paplow) qualified for the state meet at last year’s section meet, but the state meet was canceled.

For the girls race, there are four teams and five individuals that were in this week’s rankings by the Minnesota Cross Country Coaches Association.
In the team ratings, Luverne was third, Murray County Central/Fulda seventh, Canby/Minneota 12th and Springfield received votes.
Section 3A runners in the individual poll are No. 1 Amanda Overgauw of MCC/Fulda, No. 3 Tenley Nelson of Luverne, No. 4 Grace Dietz of Canby/Minneota, No. 10 Ashley Overgauw of MCC/Fulda and No. 11 Kaylee Burton of Windom.
