Jackson County Central moved up one place to fifth in Class 2A in the latest high school football ratings by The Associated Press.
The Huskies were sixth in last week’s first poll of the season before their 34-26 win over then-No. 8 Blue Earth Area. The Buccaneers dropped out of the top 10 but did receive votes.
Pipestone Area, a Section 3AA foe of JCC, is sixth this week. The Huskies play at Windom Friday.
The top four teams remain the same with Chatfield first, followed by Minneapolis North, Caledonia and Barnesville.
Martin County West received votes in the Class 1A poll. Minneota is first in Class 1A.
Fairmont received votes in Class 3A. Waseca is 10th. Cannon Falls is again first.
Marshall moved up one spot to eighth in Class 4A. Hutchison is again first.
Also staying on top in their classes were Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (9 man) and Mankato West (5A).
The lone new top-ranked team is Eden Prairie (6A).
