JCC baseball to host Worthington, Fairmont

The Jackson County Central baseball team will welcome its I-90 neighbors from the Big South Conference on both sides to Wacker Field in its next two games, with Worthington coming in on Monday and Fairmont on Tuesday. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.

JCC is 5-10 overall on the season, 5-8 in the BSC’s Gold Division following losses Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday the Huskies fell on the road 13-8 to Windom at Island Park. JCC had defeated the Eagles 3-2 in its season opener on March 31.

In the most recent game, Ben Gallagher had two hits including a triple. Jace Jorgensen, Talan Holm and Carson Kolander each doubled. Also recording hits were Haiden Warmka, Ryan Fricke and Kash Gilbert.

Gallagher took the pitching loss. Levi Thompson also pitched.

At home on Senior Night on Friday Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial claimed a 5-2 win.

Jorgensen had a hit and walked twice for Jackson County Central. Also getting hits were Gallagher, Holm and Gilbert each had a hit for JCC.

Carson Doescher took the pitching loss for the Huskies. Josh Thompson pitched in relief.

JCC and Fairmont will meet for the second time. The Cardinals won 10-0 at Herb Wolf Field in Fairmont on April 21.
