Jackson County Central is rated sixth in Class 2A in the first football ratings of the season by The Associated Press.
The Huskies, 2-0, will host No. 8 Blue Earth Area (2-0) at 7 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Field.
Ranked ahead of JCC are Chatfield (2-0), Minneapolis North(2-0), Caledonia(2-0), Barnesville (2-0), and Section 3AA rival Pipestone Area (2-0).
Martin County West (2-0) received votes in the Class 2A poll. Murray County Central (2-0), a Section 3A foe of the Mavericks, is eighth. Minneota (2-0) is first in Class 1A.
Also, Marshall (2-0) is ninth in Class 4A and Fairmont (1-1) received votes in Class 3A. The Cardinals’ loss was 10-0 to the Tigers.
Other top-ranked teams are Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (2-0) in nine man, Cannon Falls (2-0) in Class 3A, Hutchinson (2-0) in Class 4A, Mankato West (2-0) in Class 5A and Lakeville South (2-0) in Class 6A.
