STILLWATER – Jackson County Central placed seventh in the Class 1A girls team standings at the state true team track and field meet Saturday at Stillwater High School.
Only 10 points separated the top three teams. Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland was first with 568.5 points, followed by Luverne (564.5) and Minnewaska Area (558.5). The Huskies totaled 418 points.
JCC had two first-place finishes.
Peyton Hanson won the pole vault and set a school record as she cleared the 10-foot mark.
Elsa Landherr won the triple jump on her first attempt of the day, a PR of 33-2 ½.
Hanson also finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (49.52) and Lasndherr was fourth in the 400 meters (1:01.98).
Rylie Cother placed second in the high jump (4-10).
JCC competes in its sub-section individual meet Thursday at Mapleton.

Fairmont’s girls were sixth in the team standings and Worthington’s boys eighth.
The Cardinals had a 1-2 finish in the girls 1600 meters with Laura Thompson first (5:15.75) and Macy Hanson second (5:16.12). Laura Thompson also won the 3200 meters (11:12.66).
Fairmont’s Ellie Hernes won the triple jump (37-7).’
Worthington’ boys had two firsts, Abagotte Opiew in the triple jump (42-8 ½) and the 4x800 relay (8:16.44).
