Two of the state’s hottest Class 2A girls basketball teams will match up in Jackson at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday as Jackson County Central hosts Tri-City United.
That will be the second game in a boy-girl doubleheader. The boys game tips off at 6 p.m.
Girls
TCU will bring a 12-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game vs. the Huskies, who won their seventh straight when they beat Blue Earth Area 72-40 at home Thursday.
Rylie Cother scored 32 points and Zadi Farmer 23. Farmer was 4-for-4 at the free throw line and has now made 36 consecutive free throws.
Steve Bruce (@MNBuckets) reported that these are the top dozen free throw streaks in state girls basketball history. Farmer will have her name added to the list once it is officially reported.

The 12-2 Titans opened their season with losses to St. Clair and Belle Plaine but have since reeled off a dozen straight wins. The fourth win in that stretch was a 61-51 win over JCC on Dec. 12 in Montgomery.
TCU’s most recent game was a 71-20 win over Medford Saturday.
JCC started its season by winning its first three games, lost six in a row and have now won seven in a row.

JCC’s boys are on a five-game winning streak since their lone loss of the season at Belle Plaine. The Class 2A fifth-ranked Huskies are 13-1 overall, 4-1 in the East Pod of the Big South Conference.
Jackson County Central’s last game was a 70-52 win over Blue Earth Area Thursday. Grant Freking scored 27 points and Weston Rowe 13.
TCU is 0-14. The Titans most recent game was a 93-31 loss to Belle Plaine.
JCC plays another doubleheader Friday, hosting Fairmont. The girls will play first that night.
