Here’s what’s on the schedule for Jackson County Central teams this week.
Monday, April 22
The girls and boys golf teams will play at Big South Conference East Division events. The girls will be at at Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore and the boys at Shoreland Country Club in St. Peter.
Other teams are Blue Earth Area, Fairmont, New Ulm, St. Peter and Waseca.
Tuesday, April 23
It’s the first of two trips to Redwood Falls this season for the track and field teams. They’ll return on May 11 for the Big South Conference meet.
In addition to the Huskies and host Cardinals, teams scheduled to participate are Canby/Minneota, Central Minnesota Christian, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, Lakeview, MACCRAY/Renville County West, Wabasso and Windom.
Both of JCC’s golf teams will play for the second straight day, hosting Windom in a dual at Jackson Golf Club.
Also Tuesday, the Huskies’ baseball team plays a BSC Small School Division game vs. Luverne at 5:30 p.m. at Redbird Field in Luverne. JCC will enter the game 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference while the Cardinals are 5-4 and 1-2.
Thursday, April 25
JCC and Pipestone will renew their softball with a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Paulsen Field in Pipestone.
Neither team plays earlier in the week, so the Huskies will enter that day 4-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play while the Class 2A eighth-ranked Arrows are 5-2 and 3-1.
Pipestone split a pair with Windom to open the season and then lost the first game of a doubleheader with Marshall to start the season 1-2. The Arrows have won four straight games, winning the second game over the Tigers, and then beating Class 1A No. 5 Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and sweeping a pair from Redwood Valley.
Friday, April 26
The JCC softball team will face a state-ranked team for a second straight day, hosting Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial in a 4:30 p.m. nonconference game.
The Class 2A 10th-ranked Knights are 7-0 and have outscored their opponents 79-4 (11.3-0.6). LCWM hosts Martin County West Tuesday and plays at Madelia Thursday before visiting Jackson.
Also Friday, the baseball team plays two vs. Pipestone at A’s Field in Pipestone. The Arrows start the week 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference with single games at home vs. Worthington Monday and Windom Tuesday before hosting JCC.
