Here’s what’s on the schedule this week for Jackson County Central Spring sports teams. It’s all subject to change.
Softball
Two home dates are on the schedule for the JCC softball team this week.
Coach Morgan Christopher’s squad has started the season 1-0, beating Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian 7-5. Hadley Wachal pitched the first three innings, with Mady Wachal going the final. Kinley VanDeVere had two doubles.
Windom is 2-0 heading into Tuesday’s 4 p.m. doubleheader, sweeping Blue Earth Area in a doubleheader 15-0 and 16-4. Anja Nielsen threw a no-hitter in the first game for the Eagles and was also the winning pitcher in the second game.
BEA is 0-2. The Buccaneers are scheduled to host Fairmont Tuesday before coming to Jackson.
Baseball
The JCC baseball team (0-1) also has two home dates this week.
Blue Earth Area will be at Wacker Field Tuesday and Maple River is due in on Friday. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
The Buccaneers will bring in a 1-2 record. BEA lost its first two games to Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial and Maple River before beating Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther.
The Eagles start the week 3-0 as they have wins over Mankato Loyola, BEA and United South Central. Maple River is at LeSueur-Henderson Tuesday and hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran Thursday before coming to Jackson.
Golf
Both the JCC girls and boys golf teams have a dual scheduled at Windom on Tuesday. The girls played in an 18-hole tournament at Worthington on Saturday, while it will be the first competition for the boys.
On Thursday, both teams are at home for the first time, hosting Murray County Central in a 4 p.m. dual at Jackson Golf Club.
The boys then go to Worthington for its boys tourney at Great Life Golf & Fitness. Start time is 1 p.m.
In addition to the Huskies and host Trojans, teams scheduled to compete are Fairmont, Fulda, Hills-Beaver Creek, Lac qui Parle Valley, Lakeview, Luverne, Murray County Central, Pipestone, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, and Windom.
Track and field
The Jackson County Central track and field squads have one meet scheduled this week, Thursday at Windom.
Meet time is 4 p.m.
Scheduled to be there are the Huskies, the host Eagles, Adrian/Ellsworth, and Worthington.
