JACKSON – It looks to be a busy week for Jackson County Central spring sports teams, especially in the next couple of days.
Monday, May 2
Both JCC golf teams will play in Big South Conference East Division events. The girls will play at Shoreland Country Club in St. Peter and the boys at Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore. Play starts at 3 p.m. at both sites.
The Jackson County Central baseball and softball teams host nonconference games vs. Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial, with baseball to start at 5 p.m. and softball at 5:30.
Tuesday, May 3
Every team is scheduled to compete on the road Tuesday.
JCC’s boys golf team play at the seven-team St. Peter Invitational starting at 2 p.m. In addition to the Huskies and host Saints, teams scheduled to play are Blue Eart Area, Fairmont, Faribault, New Ulm, Redwood Valley, and Waseca.
The JCC girls golf team is slated to play in Big South Conference East Division events for the second straight day, this time at Rose Lake Golf Course in Fairmont.
Jackson County Central’s track and field teams have shifted to Section 2A, but they’ll be in a field of Section 3A teams hosted by Lakeview. Also competing will be BOLD, Canby/Minneota, Central Minnesota Christian, MACCRAY/Renville County West, Ortonville, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, Wabasso, and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central.
The JCC softball team plays the first of two road doubleheaders in three days, traveling to Luverne for a 4 p.m. start.
Also, the Huskies baseball team has a makeup game at Blue Earth Area, with first pitch at the Fairgrounds field at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 5
JCC’s softball team heads to Pipestone for a 4 p.m. doubleheader, while the baseball team hosts the Arrows in a 4 p.m. twin bill at Wacker Field.
The boys golf team has a 4:15 p.m. dual at Marshall.
Friday, May 6
The Jackson County Central girls golf team will have their third big competition of the week as the Huskies head to Hutchinson for a 14-team tourney at Crow River Golf Club. Also playing will be Annandale, BOLD, Dassel-Cokato, Delano, Heritage Christian Academy, Le Sueur-Henderson, Litchfield, Mankato East, Mankato West, Marshall, New Prague, and Waconia.
JCC’s track and field will be in Fairmont for the Sentinel Relays at Bob Bonk Track.
Also competing will be Blue Earth Area, Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, Hutchinson, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial, Martin County West, Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey, North Union, River Valley, St. Clair/Loyola and St. James Area.
Saturday, May 7
Both of JCC’s golf teams will be at the Fairmont Invitational, with the boys at Rose Lake and the girls at Interlaken.
Also scheduled to be on hand are Blue Earth Area, Jackson Country Central, Luverne, Marshall, New Ulm, North Union, Pipestone, St. Peter, Windom, and Worthington.
