Here’s what’s on the schedule for Jackson County Central teams this week.
Monday, April 29
Girls and boys golf at Big South Conference East Division events. The girls will be at Interlaken in Fairmont and the boys at Lakeside Golf Course in Waseca. At the last conference event for each, the girls were incomplete and the boys third.
Softball at Blue Earth Area (2), 4 p.m. Both teams head into the Big South Conference Small School doubleheader 4-4. The Huskies are 2-2 in the conference and the Buccaneers are 1-2.
Tuesday, April 30
Girls and boys golf vs. Maple River, 4 p.m. The legendary Dean Walters, who taught and coached at Jackson High School and JCC, brings the Eagles to Jackson Golf Club for the dual.
Baseball at St. James Area, 5:30 p.m. The Huskies are 5-6 overall and 4-2 in the BSC Small School Division. The Saints have only played four games and are 1-3 both overall and in the conference.
Thursday, May 2
Girls and boys golf vs. Worthington, 4 p.m. The Huskies play their second home dual of week as they host the Trojans.
Baseball at Redwood Valley, 5:30 p.m. JCC won the first meeting between the teams 2-1 at Wacker Field on April 11. The Cardinals are 4-3 in league play and 4-2 overall and host St. James Area before hosting the Huskies.
Friday, May 3
Girls and boys golf at Windom, 4 p.m. The Huskies and Eagles will meet in a dual for the second time in 11 days. JCC won the first boys dual and neither school had a complete girls team.
Track and field at Fairmont, 4 p.m. The “big meet” portion of the schedule starts for the Huskies with the 69th Sentinel Relays at Bob Bonk Track. A total of 15 teams will compete in two divisions.
Softball at Fairmont, 5 p.m. JCC won 13-0 in five innings in Jackson in the season opener for both teams April 4 in Jackson. The Cardinals are 6-4 and play a single game at St. Peter Tuesday and a doubleheader at Marshall Thursday.
Saturday, May 4
Girls and boys golf at Fairmont Invitational, 9 a.m. The girls play at Interlaken and the boys at Rose Lake. In addition to the Huskies and host Cardinals, teams scheduled to play are Blue Earth Area, Luverne, Marshall, New Ulm, North Union, Pipestone, Redwood Valley, St. Peter, Waseca, Windom and Worthington.
