JACKSON – If the weather allows all of Jackson County Central’s spring sports teams will have competed by the end of the week.
Here’s what is on the schedule for the Huskies. Of course, everything is subject to change.
Monday, April 18
JCC’s girls golf team will open its season at a Big South Conference East Division event at 4:15 p.m. at Interlaken Golf Club in Fairmont.
Joining the Huskies and host Cardinals will be Blue Earth Area, New Ulm, St. Peter and Waseca.
Tuesday, April 19
The Jackson County Central track and field squads show a meet at Lake Crystal on their schedule for Tuesday. Meet time is 4 p.m.
All of the teams on the scheduled list of competitors are in Section 2A.
In addition to the Huskies and host Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet, teams slated to be on hand are Madelia/Truman/Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain, Mankato Loyola/Cleveland, Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey, River Valley and St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran.
Thursday, April 21
Both the JCC baseball and softball teams are scheduled to play Windom Thursday, with baseball at Wacker Field and softball at the Windom Recreation Area.
The Huskies’ baseball team is 1-3 to start the season with that win coming over Class 1A top-ranked Hayfield. The Eagles are 1-0, winning 7-2 in 13 innings over Luverne. Windom is slated to play Blue Earth Area Monday.
JCC’s softball squad is 1-2, splitting a doubleheader with Fairmont and losing 2-0 to St. James Area. Windom is 0-2 and doesn’t play before Thursday.
Friday, April 22
JCC’s boys golf team is scheduled to go to Hutchinson for a tournament at Crow River Golf Club. Play is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.
Besides the Huskies and host Tigers, teams scheduled to compete are Annandale, Big Lake, Dassel-Cokato, Glencoe-Silver Lake, Heritage Christian Academy, Le Sueur-Henderson, Litchfield, Marshall, New London-Spicer, Watertown-Mayer and Willmar.
Also Friday, the track and field squads are slated to be at Mountain Lake.
Also there will be Le Sueur-Henderson, Martin County West, River Valley, St. Clair/Loyola, St. James Area and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central.
Saturday, April 23
The JCC baseball team has a rescheduled nonconference game vs. Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda at noon at Wacker Field.
The Coyotes are 0-2, losing to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and Class 1A No. 10 Adrian/Ellsworth. HLOF is scheduled to play three games before coming to Jackson, facing Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey Tuesday, Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian Thursday and Madelia Friday.
