Here’s what’s on the schedule this week for Jackson County Central Spring sports teams. It’s all subject to change.
Softball
The Class 2A eighth-ranked Jackson County Central softball team will host Fairmont in a 5:30 p.m. game on Monday and then has a road doubleheader slated at Luverne at 4 p.m. Thursday.
JCC is 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the Big South Conference Small School Division. The Huskies have outscored their opponents 48-11.
Fairmont is 4-1 and 3-0. The Cardinals won their first four games before a 7-4 loss to Worthington (3-4) on Thursday.
Luverne is 4-1 and 3-1. Those Cardinals lost their first game of the season to St. James Area (4-4) and have won four straight games since. Luverne has a doubleheader scheduled at Redwood Valley (1-3) Tuesday before hosting the Huskies.

Scoring leaders
It’s open for discussion how meaningful it is given how small the sample size is, but JCC is among the state leaders in runs scored per game for Class 2A softball teams according to statistics on minnesota-scores.net.
The Huskies have scored 48 runs in four games, an average of 12.0 per game. Among teams that have played at least three games, that puts them in a tie for eighth place.
Here are the Class 2A teams averaging 12.0 runs per game or more through Friday. Won-loss records are in parenthesis.

Golf
The golf teams have a conference event scheduled for Monday and then a home dual meet on Tuesday.
Monday’s BSC Division events are at two sites, with the girls playing at Windom Country Club and the boys at Adrian Country Club. Luverne is the host school for the boys event, but its course is undergoing maintenance.
Both the girls and boys host Windom in a dual at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Golf Club.
Baseball
JCC’s baseball team has three games slated in four days, two at Wacker Field.
The Huskies, 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the BSC Small School Division, host Fairmont (2-1, 2-0) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fairmont plays at New Ulm on Monday.
Then comes a pair of single games vs. Redwood Valley, Thursday at Wacker Field and Friday at Memorial Park in Redwood Falls. Both games start at 5 p.m.
Redwood is 0-3 and 0-2 with a home game vs. Pipestone scheduled for Tuesday.

Track and field
The JCC track and field teams have meets slated for Tuesday and Thursday.
On Tuesday the Huskies head to a meet hosted by Redwood Valley.
Scheduled to compete in addition to JCC and the host Cardinals are Canby/Minneota, Central Minnesota Christian, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet, MACCRAY/Renville County West, Montevideo, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta, Wabasso and Windom.
On Thursday JCC is at a 12-team meet in Worthington.
Expected to compete there are Jackson County Central, the host Trojans, Adrian/Ellsworth, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, Hills-Beaver Creek, Luverne, Murray County Central, Pipestone, Southwest Minnesota Christian/Edgerton, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central and Windom.
