Boys first at Spencer; girls compete in Luverne
Jackson County Central’s boys wrestlers won the team title at the Austin Roberts Memorial tournament in Spencer on Saturday. On Friday, three JCC girls competed in a tournament in Luverne.
The Huskies won the 10-team boys tourney in Spencer with 223 points. The host Tigers were second with 197 points and West Lyon was third with 181.5.
JCC had four champions.
Two Huskies won three matches by falls in winning their weight class, Payton Sorbel (106) and Jack Mix (215).
Dallas Gossen (138) won by fall, decision and a tech fall; and Michael Hansen had a bye, then won by fall and a decision.
Isaac Rodriguez (132) also reached the finals at his weight, placing second.
Jackson County Central will compete in the Rumble on the Red in Fargo Jan. 2-3.
