LAS VEGAS – Competition in the Junior World Finals Wednesday and Sadie Hotzler of Jackson is in the top 10 in her two events after the first day.
Aboard Q the Lights, Hotzler was fourth in the junior barrel racing standings after Round 1 with a time of 14.255 seconds.
Preslee Nellesen (Mapleton, Utah) was first at 14.164, Charlie Raye Sohrt (Manvel, Tex.) second with 14.178 and Alivia Santa Coloma (Boonville, Calif.) third at 14.240.
In 17 and under pole bending, also riding Q the Lights, Sadie was ninth after Group with a 20.905 clocking.
Jada June Totten (Eagle, Idaho) is first in poles at 19.813.
Hotzler competes in both events again Friday and Saturday.
