Three local drivers will be in Friday night’s Hard Knox Night at the 61st annual Knoxville Nationals.
Brooke Tatnell (Sans Souci, NSW, Australia) has the DeWall Racing No. 16 is 66th place in qualifying points among the 101 drivers entered. He ran in qualifying Thursday and was fifth in his heat and 24th in the B Main after losing a wheel.
As they say in their post, the DeWall group always keeps a sense of humor:
Skylar Prochaska (Lakefield) competed in Wednesday’s qualifying session and placed ninth in his heat, sixth in the C Main and is 91st in points.
Matt Wasmund (Jackson) was 10th in his heat Thursday, was seventh in the C Main and is 96th in points.
The top 16 drivers in points are locked in to Saturday night’s A Main.
Austin McCarl (Altoona), a weekly driver at Knoxville will start on the pole, with Tyler Courtney (Indianapolis) alongside in the front row.
Donny Schatz (Fargo) will be on the inside of the second row, with David Gravel (Watertown, Conn.) outside in the Big Game Motorsports No. 2.
In the third row will be Carson Macedo (Lemoore, Calif.) and defending champion Kyle Larson (Elk Grove, Calif.).
