Lakefield picked up two wins in First Nite League amateur baseball Sunday.
First, the teams completed a game that was suspended due to a power failure on May 26, with the Frogs winning 17-7 in seven innings. Lakefield then won the regularly scheduled game 8-2.
In the suspended game, Taylor Christopher had three hits and walked, Jared Bakalyar had three hits and Dustin Pronk collected two hits.
Also getting hits for the Frogs were Zach Bargfrede, Trevon Bargfrede, Levi Lindley, Dalton Henning and Dominic Bargfrede.
Phil Pronk was the winning pitcher, with Andrew Hesebeck getting a save.
In the regularly scheduled contest, Mason Pohlman not only got his first amateur baseball hit, he would finish with three hits.
Taylor Christopher and Jared Bakalyar each had two hits. Getting one apiece were Lindley and Nolan Luhmann.
Zach Bargfrede pitched five innings and got the win.
Keegan Klontz pitched the sixth inning and didn’t give a run and struck out his dad, Dana, who plays for Herone Lake. Kyle Gruhlke finished up on the mound for the Frogs.
Lakefield, now 5-4, is scheduled to host Mountain Lake at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
