Working on a limited pitch count, Brandon Williamson went three innings for the Louisville Bats in an International League game Thursday at Louisville Slugger Field.
Williamson took the loss for the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, who lost 5-1 to the Nashville Sounds, an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Martin County West graduate allowed one run on four hits, walking one and striking out four. He threw 59 pitches, 38 for strikes.
It was Williamson’s 12th start for Louisville. He has a 1-5 record with a 4.41 earned run average.
In 51 innings he has allowed 27 runs (25 earned) on 52 hits, walking 32, hitting four and striking out 44.
Combined with his time with Double-A Chattanooga, Williamson has a 6-7 record with a 4.26 ERA. He’s pitched 118.1 innings, allowing 58 runs (56 earned) on 113 hits, walking 73, hitting nine and striking out 118.
It may have been Williamson’s last outing of the season.
The Bats play two more games vs. Nashville and then close out the season with three games at the Gwinnett Stripers.
