If you’re old enough to have attended a Twins game at the Metrodome, you likely remember this graphic on what was, at the time, a state-of-the-art video board:
The Jackson Bulls found out that walks can indeed haunt Sunday, as their pitchers either walked or hit 11 Hadley batters and the Buttermakers came away with a 10-8 amateur baseball win at Laurie Mahon Field in Hadley.
Hadley scored a run in both the second and third innings for a 2-0 lead, with Jackson pulling even in the fifth. Hadley took a 3-2 lead in the home half of the sixth, with the Bulls responding with a six-run seventh for an 8-3 advantage.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Buttermakers scored once to draw within 8-4 before taking the lead in the eighth with six runs on only two hits as they utilized four walks and a Jackson error.
The Bulls got two runners on base in the top of the ninth, but they were left stranded, bringing their game total to 14.
Three Bulls had multiple-hit games.
Ben Gallagher was 3-for-4 out of the No, 9 spot in the batting order; Chris Gumto was 2-4 including a two-run home run in fifth inning, walked once and had three runs batted in; and Andy Wolf was 2-4, walked and was hit by a pitch.
Also getting hits for Jackson were Easton Bahr, Evan Olesen, Blake Evans and Cael Miller.
Alex Bretzman pitched the first six innings for the Bulls, with Landon Vaske and Javen Baumgarn each pitching an inning.
Jackson has a nonleague game scheduled at Blue Earth on Wednesday.
