The Jackson American Legion baseball season got underway this weekend as the Post 130 Junior Legion team went 1-2 at a tournament in Luverne.
Jackson opened the weekend with a 13-1 loss to the host Luverne team on Friday.
Holden Stumpf and Andrew Haren had hits for Jackson. Carson Doescher scored Jackson’s run on a single by Haren.
Post 130 was then a 12-1 winner over Sioux Falls Sanford Black as Levi Thompson pitched five innings and allowed only one run. Talan Holm had two hits and Doescher scored three times.
Jackson concluded the tourney with a 9-5 loss to Marshall in the consolation championship game. Post 130 had some opportunities, leaving nine runners on base.
Braxten Hall had two hits. Haren scored twice.
