The Jackson American Legion baseball team opened its season with a 17-5 win over Heron Lake-Okabena in Heron Lake. Post 130 scored one run in the first, four in the third, five in the fifth, three in the sixth and four in the seventh.
Ben Spaeth had two hits and walked twice for Jackson, while Brett Rossow had two hits including a double.
Cameron Scholten doubled and walked three times; Logan Butzon had a hit and also walked three times; and Seth Stai had a hit and walked.
Bryson Powers and Thomas Liepold both walked twice and were hit by a pitch; and Ian Titterington and Kash Luebben each had a hit.
Post 130 used four pitchers in the game.
Jackson plays in a tournament in Luverne this weekend, playing Baltic, S.D. Friday and then Tea, S.D. and Worthington Saturday.
