Two Martin County West runners will be looking for another trip to state at the Section 2A cross country meet Thursday at Baylor Regional Park north of Norwood Young America. The girls race is at 4 p.m. with the boys scheduled for 4:45.

The top two teams and the top six individual finishers who are not members of a qualifying team will advance to the state meet from each race.
The state meet is Saturday, Nov. 5 at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
Both MCW teams have a returning state qualifier.
Junior Katie Hartke is a two-time state qualifier, advancing in 2019 and 2021. MCW did not compete in the section meet in 2020 and the state meet was canceled.
Senior Jamesson Forsberg was a qualifiers for the state boys meet last year.
No teams for either girls or boys were listed in the latest ratings by the Minnesota Cross Country Coaches Association.
There is one ranked individual for the girls. Lester Prairie sophomore Addison Hoof is rated eighth.
Two boys runners were rated, with senior Cole Stencel of Maple River seventh and sophomore Josiah DeMaris of Madelia/Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther eighth.
