The Martin County West girls cross country team finished fourth and the boys were eighth at a cross country meet Thursday at Madelia Golf Course.
Maple River topped Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 43-52 for the girls team title. The Mavericks had 73 points.
Katie Hartke led MCW, placing sixth out of 42 finishers with a 5K time of 21:26.34. Katie Thram of Springfield/Cedar Mountain was the individual winner in 20:16.08.
Mankato Loyola/Cleveland was first in the boys meet with 46 points, with Butterfield-Odin second with 75 points.
Grant Koehnen was ninth of 82 runners for MCW with a 17:58.19 clocking. Maple River’s Cole Stencel was the individual champion in 16:23.45.
Martin County West will compete in the Valley Conference meet Tuesday at Lake Crystal.
