The Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin cross country teams participated in the Madelia Invitational on Thursday.
In the girls event, Evelyn Christenson led MCW/B-O with a fifth-place finish out of 34 runners with a 5000-meter time of 22:37.73.
On the boys side, the Mavericks had a complete team and placed sixth, led by Brody Cook, who was 36th in the 68-runner field in 21:33.57.
Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin will compete in the Tomahawk-Valley Conference meet Tuesday in Mankato.
