Rohman named OW in Blue Earth

Martin County junior wrestler Pierce Rohman won the 145-pound title was named Outstanding Wrestler at the Dick Maher Invitational Saturday in Blue Earth.
Rohman, who is rated first at 133 pounds in Class 2A, had a bye and won twice by technical fall. He won 17-2 in 3:44 over Waseca’s Jacob Knutson and 20-4 in 5:15 over Brady Murphy of Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
The Red Bulls had two others in the finals, Aarin Becker (215) and DJ Miller (185).
Martin County was fifth in the team standings. Maple River/United South Central was first.
Two girls wrestlers placed second for Martin County, Naileah Quiroz and Elizabeth Burkett.
The Red Bulls host Blue Earth Area in a dual Thursday.
